Half-Life 2

The PC first-person powerhouse finally appears on Xbox, has it been worth the wait?

But what of the graphics? Well the game looks almost identical to the PC big brother. Right from the start as you arrive in that daunting station, the game looks beautiful. Yes the textures aren't as detailed as you'd see running the game on a high-end PC, but for playing on your TV you really won't notice the difference very much. I'm amazed how good the game looks on Xbox. The frame rate isn't great though, most of the time it's fine, but all that detail means that there are occasions where Half-Life 2 becomes a slideshow.

Half-Life 2 is a fast-paced, exciting, action-packed romp from beginning to end. Players get to be Gordon Freeman and live in his world, fight the bad guys, win the day etc. Valve has done a stunning job converting Half-Life 2 to Xbox. Even if you've played the game through on PC you'll probably still enjoy romping through the game in the comfort of your lounge, joypad in hand.
