2006 FIFA World Cup Germany
EA Sports provides a wonderful experience to enjoy between the real matches this summer.
It’s also a shame that the online aspect of FWCG is lacking. There are no competitions, no possibility of setting up tournaments with friends. The game can be laggy too; strangely I found unranked games less problematic than unranked ones. Whatever the case, the online game joins the poor commentary implementation in dragging the score down slightly.
However let’s not get carried away with the negative aspects here. In 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany we have one of the most fun, convincing, action-packed and atmospheric football games released on a console. It’s not merely a tournament cash-in, the choice of teams and game content mean it’s a full game in its own fight and bodes very well for the next full FIFA game. The new shooting and AI make for wonderful matches on the pitch and this is one of finest football games I’ve ever played. If EA can keep the core playability from this game, add club teams and fix the commentary – FIFA07 is going to be a mouth-watering prospect. For now you have a no-brainer purchase here. If you’re into football and have an Xbox 360, you have to buy this game. It’s that good.
