Way back in 2005, when Alan Wake was first announced, it was announced for the PC and "next generation consoles." But at some point between then and now, the game became an Xbox 360 exclusive on consoles, with much of the media attention being funneled to that version... leaving those looking forward to the PC version increasingly concerned. Now in a new post on the official Alan Wake forums (via VG247), Remedy has reassured PC gamers that they haven"t been forgotten... they"ve just been sidelined for the time being.
"I"m a PC gamer at heart (have a Core i7, Radeon 4890, 5.1 audio setup at home) so I do appreciate your concerns," said poster "MarkusRMD," presumably Markus Maki, director of development for Remedy Entertainment. "Unfortunately all I can say at this point is that we"re focusing all our efforts on the 360 version and will be making comments in regards to the PC at a later time."
So by the sound of it, it looks more and more like it"s possible that the Xbox 360 version of Alan Wake will launch first, with the PC version following at some point afterward. But then again, no release date for either version has been announced yet, with both slated for release in the vague timeframe of spring 2010.
