Imagine Adult Swim"s rapid-fire stop-motion sketch comedy series, Robot Chicken, crossed with EA Maxis" galactic simulation game, Spore. We have no idea what the hell such a cross-over would produce, either, but it"s an intriguing collaboration that Maxis and Adult Swim are planning all the same. And according to a teaser site (via Joystiq), all our questions will be answered next Tuesday, May 19, when the fruits of this collaboration are revealed.
Even more confusing is an accompanying teaser video posted on YouTube (embedded below), which appears to show some of Robot Chicken"s writing and voice acting talent in what may or may not be a competition to produce what may or may not be a five-act play, either with Spore or set in the universe of Spore, with such enigmatic ideas pitched as "5 dog droppings," "exploding raindrops," and "banana monkey war." We"d love to offer a more specific description, but as you can see for yourself in the video, we cannot.
Robot Chicken is no stranger to collaborations with popular licenses, as the show has already produced two Star Wars specials. And while we"ll have to wait until next week for the answers to all our burning questions, we do at least know one thing -- whatever this cross-over entails, it has to end up being cooler than The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones. Take that, previous generation"s youth.
