Those rumors suggesting that Wipeout Pulse might make the jump to the PlayStation 2 are starting to look more and more credible by the day. Seemingly confirming the existence of the game, Joystiq spotted a listing for a PS2 port of the futuristic PSP racer on a the official website for the German videogame ratings board, Unterhaltungsoftware Selbstkontrolle (or USK, for brevity"s sake).
With its 140 million-plus install base, slipping the cream of the PSP crop onto the PS2 would seem like a no-brainer -- Twisted Metal: Head On, anyone? But what does Sony have to say about the USK leak? When questioned about the possibility of Wipeout Pulse on PSP, a Sony representative responded, "We do not have any official announcements to make at this time."
We"ll continue to keep a close watch on this developing story until Sony"s prepared to make any official announcements on the matter.
