Red Faction: Guerrilla, the third entry in Volition"s shooter series that dates back to the early days of the PlayStation 2, will launch for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on June 9.

Volition confirmed the release date with Shacknews, along with the date showing up on various retailer listings. Additionally, a downloadable demo is planned to release on consoles on April 23.

Unlike the first two PS2 Red Faction games, which were first-person shooters that placed heavy emphasis on destructible environments, Red Faction: Guerrilla is an open-world third-person action game that... yes, also places a heavy emphasis on destructible environments (some things just never change).
