Halo Wars has just recently gone gold, but already the developers are thinking about adding content to the game. Electricpig reports that lead producer Jason Pace commented on the possibility at a U.K. event. "Additional downloadable content is something we"re looking into," he said, adding that they are "committed to supporting the franchise," but that "there are no definite plans yet."

Downloadable content for Halo 3 has been a solid selling point for Bungie and Microsoft, keeping the game fresh while providing a constant revenue stream. The Halo name is certainly no stranger to extra content, but Halo Wars has a lot to prove, being the first game in the franchise to step outside the FPS genre. As a strategy game, DLC would most likely include new maps or campaign missions, or even new units similar to expansion packs on most PC strategy titles. The demo dropping on February 5 should give most players a taste of how they feel about buying the full game, and extra content to go with it.
