The PSP is possibly one of the greatest inventions ever. It's the Swiss-army knife of the gaming world. While other systems like the PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, and of course Xbox 360 boast better graphics and games, this has something for everyone and of course can be played wherever and whenever you like. With the use of the Memory Stick Duo we are able to listen to music, view pictures, download movies and even episodes of your favourite TV shows. Those lucky enough to own 1.5 versions of the PSP are also able to take advantage of Homebrew software and play thousands of classic SEGA, Nintendo and PC games. UMD movies also allow you to watch the latest releases without the hassle of downloading and converting. This is where many people spout out multiple negatives at the PSP. Yes, it can do all of the above, but more often than not, it involves a lot of fiddling, file creation, file downloading, renaming, transferring, wire buying and hair pulling. Thanks to Xploder Movie Player and Media Centre, this will all become a thing of the past, as this fantastic utility gives you an easy way to do all of the above, without any of the hassle. You want movies? The Media Centre is compatible with MPEG 1, 2, 4, AVI, Quick Time and DIVX - it converts to MPEG4 automatically and makes it quick and easy to transfer the final file to your PSP. You want music? The Media Centre helps you create playlists, obtain track and artist details, and even allows you to play music from iTunes on your PSP. (Take that, you smug Ipod Nano owners!) You want pictures? This is made super quick and easy, allowing you to create screensaver quality slideshows on your PSP. Finally, for those who need a little help getting Bret Hart to tap out in Smackdown or want unlimited nitrous in Ridge Racer, we have an Action Replay-style cheat system. This is also wonderful for adjusting games. (You haven't played Tomb Raider, until you've seen Lara Croft with clown shoes - hilarious!) Xploder is easy to access and understand, with a thorough manual and extensive online support if you encounter any problems. It should be stressed that many of the features really need a 1GB or 2GB memory stick to really benefit; it would have been nice to have been given a larger memory card with the package, but this is just being greedy. The set does include a USB to PSP cable, which is a nice addition for newer PSP owners and saves you trying to find and purchase the wire yourself. What the above adds up to is a fantastic multi-functional tool to allow you to make the most of your PSP - and really it's a more essential purchase than any game out there at the moment.
