PlayStation 2 XLink Guide

Here we show you in easy steps how to get cheats from Xploder, from your PC to the PlayStation 2.

For the purposes of this guide we're going to get some cheats for Polyphony Digital's wonderful driving game, Gran Turismo 4. One the left hand side of the left hand panel on the XLink software is a tab marked Downloads. Hit that and it will open another panel.

At the top right of this new panel is a search button. Select this and you'll see a search box like the one in the image below. We want cheats for Gran Turismo 4. So select cheats from the drop-down search menu and type Gran Turismo 4 into the search box.

The search will quickly locate the GT4 saves and display what is available.

Now to keep things nice and neat on the PC, we're going to create a Group called Gran Turismo 4 to copy the cheats over to. So in the middle panel select create group and you'll choose a name as we are doing in the image below.

Now drag the Gran Turismo 4 cheats from the left hand panel into the new group folder you have made in the middle folder. This will download the cheats from us here at Xploder onto your PC. As you can see from the image below we now have the cheats stored in the PC panel under the Gran Turismo 4 group. You can see this clearly in the top right hand side of the image.

So far so good, we have the Gran Turismo 4 cheats we want on the PC. But now it's time to get them over to the PlayStation 2. Highlight the cheats in the middle panel then hit the copy button at the bottom of the middle panel. The software will then send the cheats over to the PlayStation 2. You'll see a screen like the following on the PC while this is happening, meanwhile the Xploder software on the PlayStation 2 will also display a message that shows the transfer is in progress.

The year-end report for video games held surprises as next-generation systems took a back seat to the old standbys.

With the imminent release of Sony's PlayStation 3 (PS3), news of the groundbreaking features of the console have begun leaking from press sources around the globe.

The contrasting fortunes of two of the biggest players in the global gaming market were underlined today when Sony announced a 94% plunge in profits for the most recent quarter, while Nintendo said its profits over the first half of the fiscal year had more than tripled.

Demand for next-generation console propels Xbox 360 through the 100,000 mark

Pink seems to be the new black. There's a glut of pink gadgets hitting the market right now, from the pink DS Lite to the pink notebook (not to mention a number of mobile handsets). So it's no surprise to see Sony getting in on the act with the launch of a pink PlayStation 2.
