"... it does exactly what it says on the tin!"
The fact is, home consoles, and even PCs tend to make a bit of a mess. Games get left lying around, discs stacked on the telly (or PC speakers) and controllers get thrown about the place, leaving their cables strewn across the floor like tripwires. Hell, we don’t know why, but what we do know is, it could be better.
So enter the Blaze Pro Shock Mini Wireless Controller for PC and PS2. Practically speaking, it’s absolutely brilliant. Hooked up to the PS2, there’s no lag, despite the wireless magic, and all the buttons are exactly where you’d expect them to be.
The only thing (other than the lack of a cable) you will notice is that being a mini controller, it’s a little smaller than the official joypad. And because it uses batteries, it has a bulge on the underside where the three triple As go in.
If we had to be critical, then we’d have to mention that the D-Pad and the trigger buttons do feel a little cheap, but they all work fine, and the wireless broadcast is strong enough to work if you’re in a different room. Not that you would be of course, we just thought we’d test it anyway…
Bundled with the controller is the receiver unit, which has connectors for both the PS2, and the USB ports on any home PC, meaning the controller can be used for both systems, straight out of the box. They’ve also thrown in their popular Xploder V5 Mega Cheats disc for use on the PS2 as well, so you can squeeze every last secret and powerup out of every game you already own.
All in all, the Pro Shock Mini Wireless Controller does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s got the vibration function, it’s wireless and it’s perfectly compatible with both PC and PS2. So finally you can enjoy all you favourite games without worrying about when you’ll next trip over a wire, or if your kitten is gonna electrocute herself.
