When Apple releases the upcoming 3.0 firmware update for the iPhone, it"ll make it possible for applications created by independent developers to access the device"s music library. Why does this matter to you, videogame enthusiast? Because it theoretically makes an iPhone version of Audiosurf possible. And according to a brief email exchange between iPhone gaming site APPera and Audiosurf lead designer Dylan Fitterer, an iPhone version of Audiosurf may even be likely.
As TheEscapist relayed it (via Giant Bomb), APPera emailed Fitterer to gauge his response to making Audiosurf for the iPhone, seeing as it"ll now actually be possible. Fitterer"s terse, but hopeful reply: "WooHoo! I"m on it."
It"s hard to say if this is any kind of actual confirmation, or if Fitterer was just kidding around. But for all those who"d like to race across musically-generated courses on the go, let"s hope for the former.
