The word on the street is that MadWorld hasn"t been doing too well at retail. A pleasant surprise then to have Sega say that the "first set of data for MadWorld is very encouraging." In fact, there"s even talk of sequels.
Asked by VentureBeat whether MadWorld had the potential to be a franchise, Sega of America vice president of marketing Sean Ratcliffe said, "If it resonates with the audience, yes, we absolutely want to make that into a franchise. I think it"s unique, and there are many aspects of that game which are sort of pushing boundaries. And it"s just great fun."
Why not? No More Heroes is getting a sequel, after all. Of course, Ratcliffe likely doesn"t have much say on whether MadWorld gets sequels. It"s just nice to hear its data being called "encouraging."
