When Metal Gear Solid Rising was announced at Microsoft"s press conference, it was hard not to notice that the subtitle descriptor had changed to "Lightning Bolt Action." Many of us took this as a sign that this game was going to be more action-oriented than its counterparts, and it looks like we were right. At tonight"s Konami press conference, Hideo Kojima gave a few more details on the game.
"This is the next series of Metal Gear," he said. "It"s of course stealth espionage action, but with Raiden in the lead. If some of you remember, I talked at GDC about how development is different in the US and Europe. We"re testing this approach ourselves with this game." He also said the game is being created "with up-and-coming youngbloods, because the game is for youngbloods."
It certainly sounds like the title is aiming to have a more Western design philosophy, so maybe we"ll be able to imitate Raiden"s well-choreographed fight scenes from MGS4. We can always hope, can"t we?
