Sony introduced a brief trailer for the long-awaited Gran Turismo 5 at their press conference today. Among the highlights were newly announced partnerships with NASCAR and the World Rally Championship -- bringing official NASCAR and rally races into Sony"s driving sim.

According to the footage, Gran Turismo 5 also appears to boast vehicular damage -- another first for the series. It should be especially interesting to see how Gran Turismo"s newfound damage modeling stacks up against Forza 3"s. Expect more on both racers as E3 progresses.
