Despite the fact that DiRT 2"s September release is still months away, developer Codemasters has already announced their intentions to release DLC packs for the game soon after it launches.
Speaking to CVG, senior executive producer Gavin Raeburn said, "We have plans to launch a number of small DLC packs soon after launch which players can use to personalize and augment the boxed game." That"s as specific as he got, so what exactly "personalize and augment" means is hard to say. At the risk of revealing our amazing abilities for soothsaying, we"re going to guess it"ll be new ways to customize your cars.
Also not discussed were how much these "small DLC packs" might cost -- and the prospect of premium DLC coming so soon after a game"s launch is always a little disconcerting. Is there any hope Codemasters will follow the fine example set by Criterion with their Burnout Paradise DLC, and release the first few packs for free?
